This class includes 2 days of cooking instruction with lunch on both days.

Some of us are lucky enough to have help with the home cooking. Many of our Helpers are not trained to cook and have learnt 'on-the-job'. In this two-day course covering Western and Asian styles of cooking, your Helper will learn new techniques, new ingredients and new recipes to help increase skill, build confidence and generate interest in cooking. Enrol your helper in a cooking class that uses healthy ingredients and cooking techniques, where she can feel comfortable amongst others who are also keen to learn.

 Class includes:
⁻ professional instruction
⁻ 100% hands-on experience based learning
⁻ folder of take home recipes
⁻ lunch on both days

DAY ONE: Healthy Western Meals
⁻ Selecting and storing fresh ingredients
⁻ Preparing and flavouring the protein i.e. Meat, Chicken or Fish
⁻ Cooking techniques - avoiding over and under-cooking protein
⁻ Encouraging children who are fussy eaters
⁻ Presentation tips - plating techniques to take meals from family to fabulous

• Beef and Guinness Stew with Colcannon
• Parmesan and Parsley Crusted Salmon
• Green Bean Salad
• Mini Baked Cheesecake

DAY TWO: Fresh and Light Asian
⁻ Selecting and storing ingredients
⁻ Pantry staples
⁻ Oils - which to use and how to reduce
⁻ Stir-frying techniques
⁻ More flavour, less salt
⁻ Balancing flavours
⁻ Presentation tips - plating techniques to take meals from family to fabulous

Menu:
• Seared Tuna with Soba Noodles and Soy Mirin Dressing
• Red curry of Chicken (including curry paste from scratch)
• De-constructed Ginger and Garlic Fried Rice
